Dr.-Ing.
Marcel Mahner
My work combines analytical engineering, numerical simulation, and experimental methods to better understand the dynamic behavior of mechanical systems.
The focus is always on practical technical insights — from identifying vibration behavior to interpreting complex system interactions.
I studied mechanical engineering at DHBW Mannheim and TU Darmstadt and completed my doctorate in mechanical engineering at TU Darmstadt, focusing on the thermo-elasto-gasdynamic behavior of air foil journal bearings.
Over the years, I gained hands-on experience in industry and research — working on a wide range of projects involving rotor dynamics, structural dynamics, and vibration-based problem solving.
Today, I support companies and research institutions in understanding and solving dynamic challenges in mechanical systems.
OUTSIDE ENGINEERING
When I am not working on dynamic systems, I enjoy spending time in the mountains. Climbing, hiking and skiing help me clear my head and bring new perspectives.
